Business Development Manager

    About the position

    MySchool is a leading school administration software for K-12 schools and the Higher Education sector, serving more than 200 schools and over 100,000 students globally. Our platform is built around a set of integrated modules that manage all aspects of school administration, connecting staff, teachers, students and parents under one ever-evolving digital roof.

    As part of our plans to grow the MySchool network of schools, we are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our team. The candidate should be commercial, target driven and love working in a multi-functional team, and be effective at building relationships with prospective schools, communicating and selling the benefits of our platform and converting that into tangible revenues for the business.

     

    What you’ll be doing

    • Participate in developing a sales plan for the business,
    • setting sales targets with management, and striving to meet and beat those targets,
    • building a strong network of potential schools and decision makers within those schools,
    • using consultative selling techniques to nurture relationships with schools and close sales,
    • attending industry specific events, to build and retain client relationships and raise the profile of the MySchool brand,
    • identifying new opportunities for the business, in terms of product ideas or new sales channels,
    • creating sales material with help from the marketing and support teams,
    • supporting the Customer Success team with the onboarding of new schools and
    • committing to and developing a process driven sales and marketing methodology.

    Requirements:

    • Minimum of 3-year experience selling software solutions,
    • track record of meeting and beating sales targets,
    • have strong communication skills. Apart from possessing excellent spoken and written English, they will be able to effectively communicate with, motivate and inspire prospects,
    • prepared to travel for a minimum of 30% of their work time,
    • have a desire to learn, understand new concepts and ask thoughtful questions,
    • ability to work both independently and with a team and be accountable for their own work and
    • possess an 'always helping' attitude and approach with prospective customers.

    Considered a strong plus:

    • Experience selling School Management Information Systems and
    • worked in a sales role within the education sector.

    Apart from the required skills, it’s important for us to find someone that fits in with our team and culture. As well as a skills assessment, our first interview will look to see if we’re a good fit for each other. If it’s all looking good, we’ll meet again for a 2nd interview.
